Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Painter to prepare surfaces and apply paints, enamels, stains, shellac and varnishes on our equipment.

You’ll work closely with the Lead Painter, confirm correct colors, inspect units for quality, and maintain paint guns and tools while following safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Occasional working at heights above 10 feet.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and/or hearing protection as required.
  • Ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged period of time.

Responsibilities

  • 1:1 with Lead Painter regarding their daily priorities.
  • Confirm correct paint colors for each unit.
  • Bleed out air compressor to assure there is no moisture.
  • Clean and inspect paint gun.
  • Inspect prepped units for quality.
  • Apply pre-cleaner with Tack Rag to clean surface.
  • Suit up (Head cover, Paint suit, Respirator, Gloves, etc.).
  • Apply primer to any exposed metal and apply base coat.
  • Conduct final inspection of all units to ensure the job was completed accurately.
  • Tool maintenance: clean/flush paint guns, collect all tools and put them back.
  • Inspect work area to assure that the booth is left the same before the paint process.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.
