Job summary

T.O. Plastics, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking an Extrusion Operator for the second shift to set up, operate and maintain extrusion equipment, ensuring quality output and efficient production. This role supports supervisory efforts to keep the department organized and profitable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of plastic fabrication and extrusion process.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and write English at an intermediate level.
• Ability to perform intermediate math.
• Ability to obtain forklift license and operate it safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis.
• Visual acuity to discern and quality decisions.

Responsibilities

• Prepares material for set up utilizing crystalizer, blender, and dryer.
• Sets up machine according to the Job Order.
• Monitors assigned machine and ensures that it is running as efficiently as possible.
• Performs quality checks and testing throughout the process; makes basic adjustments to control appearance and quality.
• Troubleshoots issues with machine and repairs as necessary.
• Completes log and transfer tickets.
• Looks for opportunities to improve processes and assists with implementation.
• Performs and assists with roll and die changes.
• Performs preventive maintenance on machine.
• Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner performing housekeeping duties.
• Attend and participate in safety, tool box and other meetings.
