Job summary

Classic Wire and Cable (CWC) is hiring a Second Shift Cutting Supervisor to lead cutting operations from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with no weekends. You’ll train staff, ensure safe equipment use, and work with the expeditor to meet schedules.

You will oversee quality and efficiency in cutting, rework damaged cable, manage inventory, and report metrics to management. Join a team focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant training and/or certification as a Wire Cutter.
• 2+ years experience as a Wire Cutter Supervisor or similar.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Reliable with strong attendance and discipline.
• Loyal and supportive of AWG values.
• Good listener and team player.
• Excellent communicator with supervisors and team.
• Willing to pitch in with other tasks.
• Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage cutting staff and ensure equipment is operated safely during cutting or respooling.
• Train department staff on cut machines, forklift, ticket process, and handling of wire/cable.
• Rework and scrap damaged cable.
• Keep cutting area clean and organized; ensure PPE usage.
• Work with Order expeditor to complete orders as scheduled.
• Train staff on additional service work (parallel, coiling, cuts).
• Ensure customer requirements are followed (packaging, reel markings).
• Maintain inventory of operating supplies.
• Record and provide department metrics to management.
• Participate in interview process for new staff.
• Coordinate with project manager on large shipments for on-time delivery.
• Maintain facility security (alarms, doors when not operational).
• Daily call with warehouse and sales.
• Identify and mitigate safety hazards.
• Develop processes and strategies to improve workflow.
• Attend training for duties related to position.
• Assist during inventory and with duties as needed.

Second Shift Cutting Supervisor Position- Monday to Friday (2:30pm-11:00pm) No weekends.

The Second Shift Cutting Supervisor will work a schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily following the guidelines set for the by the Warehouse Managers. The SSCS will follow standard operating procedures and will comply with the warehouse safety procedures, dress code and attendance policies.

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage cutting staff and ensure all equipment is being operated safely during cutting or respooling operations
• Train department staff on various cut machines, forklift, picking ticket process, quality and handling of various types of wire and cable
• Rework and scrap of damaged cable
• Keep cutting area clean and organized, monitor and ensure all equipment (hand tools, power equipment etc.) in the department are being used properly with PPE when required, and returned to their areas when no longer in use
• Work closely with Order expeditor to ensure all orders are completed as scheduled
• Train department staff on additional service work performed (parallel, coiling, cuts)
• Make sure all customer requirements are being followed (packaging, reel markings, etc.)
• Maintaining inventory of operating supplies (empty reels, rope, u-nails, end caps, etc.)
• Record and provide department metrics to management
• Participate in interview process of new department personnel
• Work closely with project manager on large scale project shipments to ensure on time deliveries
• Facility security integrity including setting alarms, and locking doors when facility is not operational
• Participate in daily call with warehouse and sales
• Identifying, correcting, mitigating any safety hazards that may arise.
• Continue to develop and build processes, techniques and strategies to improve workflow
• Attend training for duties related to position
• Assist during Inventory
• Assist Warehouse manager with tasks and duties as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent in training and experience
• Relevant training and/or certification as a Wire Cutter
• 2+ Years work experience as a Wire Cutter Supervisor or similar role
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Proficient with hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
