Qualifications

• Valid South Carolina teaching license or eligibility within 60 days of hire.
• Be or become Highly Qualified in the content area within 60 days of hire.
• Completed program of study in education from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time.
• Provide developmentally appropriate opportunities that encourage curiosity and problem-solving.
• Plan, create and implement a dynamic classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
• Select materials and equipment suitable for the instructional program.
• Model positive behavior management techniques in daily classroom interactions.
• Collaborate with staff to develop plans and share best practices for students and families.
• Assist in ensuring parent involvement and awareness in planning through communications and meetings.
• Advocate for parents to access resources and support services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with district policies regarding documentation and records.
