Job summary

Southeast Connections, LLC is seeking a Welder to perform welding tasks for natural gas pipeline installation, maintenance and repair. The role involves operating welding equipment, striking arcs to fuse metal components, and ensuring pipeline integrity in field or shop settings.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma, OQ credentials in pipeline welding, and 3 years of welding experience. The position requires travel within a 4-hour radius of the home office and adherence to safety

Qualifications

• OQ certification in pipeline welding.
• Three years welding experience preferred.
• Weldingrelated training or certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations for installation, maintenance and repair of natural gas pipelines.
• Operate torches, power supplies and welding equipment to fuse metal components.
• Strike arcs by touching electrodes to metal surfaces and complete electrical circuits.
• Assist in pipeline construction, repair and integrity maintenance.
• Work in various environments, including job sites and fabrication shops.
• Pass pipe welding test for various gas companies per ASME certification requirements.
• Follow safety, quality and regulatory standards.

Job Overview

The Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks essential to the installation, maintenance and repair of natural gas pipelines. This role involves operating welding equipment, striking arcs to fuse metal components, and ensuring the structural integrity of pipelines. Work may be conducted in the field or within a shop environment, adhering to industry safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions

• Perform welding operations for the installation, maintenance and repair of natural gas pipelines.
• Operate torches, power supplies and welding equipment to fuse metal components securely.
• Strike arcs by touching electrodes to metal surfaces, completing electrical circuits.
• Assist in pipeline construction, repair and integrity maintenance.
• Work in various environments, including job sites and fabrication shops.
• Must be able to pass pipe welding test for various gas companies, conforming with ASME certification requirements.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols and quality standards.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• OQ (Operator Qualification) certification in pipeline welding.
• Three (3) years of welding experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able and willing to work long hours including day, night and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.
• Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Able to climb a minimum of 5 rungs of an extension ladder.
• Ability to travel to project sites that are typically within a 4-hour radius of the home office.
• Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations and job hazards.
