Job summary

Seconnections is seeking skilled workers to perform construction and maintenance on gas distribution and underground utilities, operating equipment such as backhoes and trenchers to install, remove, or maintain pipe and services.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of operating experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work safely with the public in a team environment. CDL is preferred and a clean driving record is required where applicable.

Qualifications

• CDL may be required or obtainable; valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment (backhoe, excavator, plows, trenchers, directional bore) to install, remove, or maintain underground utilities and gas lines.
• Load and secure materials and equipment for transport; ensure public safety and site security.
• Follow safety policies and procedures per DC, LLC standards and utility requirements.
• Interact with the public daily and perform duties in a customer-facing environment.

Position Overview

This role involves skilled workers who perform construction and maintenance on gas distribution, underground utilities, and gas service lines, and interact daily with the public. Responsibilities include operating equipment such as backhoe, excavator, plows, trenchers, or directional bore machines to install, remove, or maintain underground utilities and pipe.

Essential Functions

• Skilled worker who possesses the required knowledge, skill, and physical ability to perform construction and maintenance duties related to the natural gas industry.
• Ability to perform essential physical functions and operate within a short time frame as needed.
• Personal characteristics suitable for making contacts with customers and the public.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Follow all safety policies and safety procedures per DC, LLC standards and the utility customer.
• Load material or equipment for transport from show‑up yard to job site and secure as appropriate.
• Place, remove or maintain underground utilities as directed: carrying pipe, bags of material and other heavy items, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipe, duct, or cable.
• Secure work site, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials.

Qualifications

• Education: Preferred – High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Required – 3 years prior operating experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to obtain a CDL.
• Gas construction experience.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment.
