Job summary

Qualifications

• 4-year post secondary education or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma preferred.
• At least 1 year foreman experience; 3 years concrete experience; 1 year operating mini excavator.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a concrete crew, providing hands-on guidance.
• Trains crew members following safety policies.
• Completes required daily paperwork.
• Oversees work involving concrete, asphalt and sod as needed.
• Erects barricades, cones and signs to protect workers from traffic.
• Assists in loading/unloading equipment.
• Operates shovels, tampers, jackhammers and mini excavator.
• Monitors progress to meet schedule and cost targets.
• Works in extreme temperatures; long hours and some weekends.
• May travel up to two weeks at a time.

Position Overview

Oversees a concrete crew working on job site, making sure work is compliant with installation and safety standards. Manages field operations with a focus on safety, compliance, efficiency, cost management and innovation. Manages construction activities to ensure company procedures are followed and compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

Essential Functions

• Supervises a concrete crew, rendering hands‑on assistance.
• Train crew members in accordance with company safety policies.
• Responsible for completing required paperwork on a daily basis.
• Oversees all work that involves placing concrete, asphalt and sod as needed.
• Responsible for crews erecting barricades, cones and warning signs around work site to protect workers from street traffic.
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment.
• Operating shovels, gas tamps, jack hammers, and mini excavator.
• Monitor progress of crew to ensure satisfactory job completion, keeping construction progress in line with overall project schedule and cost estimate.
• Exposed to extreme cold and heat (depending upon the weather).
• Working 8 to 10 hours a day with some weekend work; hours may vary.
• Must be willing to travel at any given time; possibly up to 2 weeks at a time.

Qualifications

Education Required: 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.

Preferred: High school diploma.

Preferred: At least (1) year of foreman experience. (3) years prior concrete experience. (1) year of operating experience of a mini excavator. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. A strong work ethic and willing to work in a team environment.
