Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant to join our Seattle-area emergency medicine team. You will diagnose and manage a wide range of ED cases, providing compassionate, expert care within a comprehensive Stroke Center and Hyperbaric Medicine referral network.

You will collaborate with attending physicians and a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans and ensure safe handoffs, supporting patient-centered outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington.
Minimum one year of Emergency Medicine or Critical Care experience.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
BLS (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency medical care, including evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients.
Work collaboratively with attending physicians to manage a broad spectrum of emergency conditions.
Ensure effective patient handoffs and communication with consultants, hospitalists, and other care teams.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Shifts are 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM.
Work side-by-side with dedicated night Emergency Physicians on overnight shifts.
24,000 annual visits in a moderate-acuity urban ED.
