Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a contract Software Engineer for a fully onsite role in Seattle, WA. You will contribute to backend applications, APIs and automation, leveraging Python and other OO languages while collaborating with teams to deliver robust systems.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python skills, and familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Linux, and AI coding assistants, plus solid testing and data-driven validation know-how.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming experience with Python or another object-oriented language.
• Experience building backend applications, APIs, internal tools, or automation solutions.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor, Gemini, or similar tools.
• Understanding of software testing, debugging, and validation methodologies.
• Knowledge of fundamental statistics concepts such as sampling, variance, and significance testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
