Job summary

Heartland Security Insurance Group seeks a Groundskeeper to maintain outdoor spaces across its properties in Tyler, TX. The role requires 3–5 years of landscaping experience, plant health knowledge, and proficiency with lawn equipment and PPE-driven chemical applications.

You will service pools, irrigation, and grounds, perform minor repairs, and ensure safe, welcoming environments for visitors and staff year-round.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years landscaping experience with plant care and lawn maintenance.
• Skilled in operating and maintaining grounds tools and machinery.
• Ability to use hand and power tools for carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance standards.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and disposal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaping at properties with seeding, mulching, and fertilizing.
• Inspect plants for pests and disease; transplant and prune as needed.
• Operate mowing and trimming equipment; maintain irrigation systems.
• Clear trash and debris from grounds; schedule daily upkeep.
• Clean and maintain pools and fountains; perform related tasks.
• Assist in snow/ice removal and sand/salt application.
• Prepare outdoor areas for visitors and events; manage seating areas.
• Apply chemicals safely with PPE; dispose of residues properly.
• Operate light vehicles and power tools; perform routine maintenance.
• Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with guests and staff.
