Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Colorado is hiring a bartender for the winter season 2026-2027. This seasonal role covers setup, drink preparation, service, and maintaining lounge areas. Start dates are in the fall/winter window, with end of March as the season conclusion.

Responsibilities include guest service, cash handling, and adherence to liquor laws. Prior bartending experience is helpful, and physical endurance for long shifts is required. Apply during the stated period for consideration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work - ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.
  • Previous bartending experience helpful.
  • Must be effective at listening to and clarifying concerns from employees and guests.
  • Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Maximize productivity and identify solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Process guests' checks, cash and credit cards per standards.
  • Open and close side work to ensure prompt service.
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails according to standards.
  • Serve guests with food and beverages in a warm, professional manner.
  • Keep lounge areas clean and tidy.
  • Be familiar with the computer system.
  • Carry out cashiering and close checks.
  • Follow all state liquor laws.
  • Assist in maintaining beverage costs.
  • Serve liquor responsibly and report issues as needed.
  • Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels.
  • Stock and clean glassware.
  • Check soda tanks are full and secure.
  • Prepare garnishes.
  • Assist in cleaning tables and lounge areas.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Location
Overview

The Bartender is responsible for the complete set up of the bar area and the mixing of drinks for all guests and servers. Need to maintain the service and cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and control over liquor inventory.

This is a seasonal role for winter 2026-2027.

Start dates November 19th or December 14th

Stay through the season, end of March

Responsibilities
  • Process guests' checks, collect cash and process credit cards and room charges according to standards.
  • Perform opening and closing side work according to standards to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the standards, for mixing, portion control and presentation.
  • Serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ensure the lounge areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Be familiar with the computer system.
  • Carry out cashiering functions by closing checks and servicing the guest.
  • Follow all state liquor laws.
  • Assist in maintaining beverage cost.
  • Follow prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests, and when necessary report to management.
  • Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels as needed. (bottle for bottle method)
  • Stock and clean glassware.
  • Check soda tanks to ensure that they are full and secured properly to the bar.
  • Prepare all garnishes.
  • Assist in cleaning of tables and all lounge area as needed.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
