Wayfair is hiring a Warehouse Associate - Cherry Picker Operator in Perris, CA. You will support fast-paced fulfillment, loading and moving furniture and larger items while using scanners and warehouse software to track stock.

This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficiency in all tasks. The position offers full-time hours in a dynamic environment with cross-training across fulfillment functions, potential for overtime, and opportunities for advancement within operations and leadership

Qualifications

• Able to stand, walk, bend, lift and work a full shift in a warehouse.
• Able to lift 75+ lbs unassisted and handle heights up to 40 ft.
• Ability to read and comprehend English for safety purposes.
• At least 6 months of cherry picker/order picker or related MHE experience.
• Basic computer/handheld inventory device use is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload and move furniture orders and inventory of various sizes.
• Use scanners and handheld devices to track inventory and locations.
• Perform quality checks, assist with repackaging and labeling as needed.
• Operate MHE when certified, such as order pickers and pallet jacks.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area following 5S and safety guidelines.

What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)

• Handling & Movement: Safely load, unload, and move large and small furniture orders and inventory of various sizes. This will involve manually lifting items 75+ lbs. unassisted and maneuvering/team lifting products up to 150 lbs.
• Technology & Inventory: Utilize scanners, handheld devices (e.g., Nexus), and warehouse software to accurately track, process, and update inventory and order locations across all operational stages.
• Quality & Preparation: Perform comprehensive quality control tasks, which may include inspecting, assembling (deluxing), repackaging, labeling, and sorting products to prevent damage before shipping.
• MHE Operation: When certified, safely operate various Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as order pickers, electronic pallet jacks, and reach trucks, often at high elevations.
• Safety & Teamwork: Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S) to ensure safety and efficiency.

What You’ll Need

• Physical Capability:
  • The ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work a full shift (8+ hours a day) in a dynamic, non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • The ability to frequently lift and move merchandise 75+ lbs. unassisted.
• Able to read and comprehend English to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you.
• Equipment Experience: Minimum 6 months of cherry picker, order picker, or related MHE experience required.
• Comfort with Heights: Must be comfortable working at heights (up to 40ft) while handling large products.
• Experience (Preferred): Previous warehouse, logistics, or comparable experience is preferred. A High School Diploma or GED is also preferred.
• Technical Skills: Basic ability to use computers, tablets, and handheld inventory devices is essential.
