Job summary

United Planning Organization (UPO) is seeking a Transportation & Logistics Manager for the seasonal position in Washington, DC. You will oversee daily transportation operations, supervise drivers and dispatchers, and liaise with government agencies and service providers to deliver reliable services for the homeless population.

The role requires a valid CDL with passenger endorsement, the ability to navigate DC, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience operating a 24-passenger vehicle with CDL (A or B) and passenger endorsement.
• A current five-year driving record with two or fewer points.
• Ability to work varied hours, including nights, holidays and weekends, in DC.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily transportation operations and staff for Shelter Hotline.
• Monitor fleet using management systems and generate reports.
• Develop staffing plans and assign drivers and dispatchers.
• Coordinate with city shelters to ensure bed availability and service coverage.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, policies, and safety procedures.
