Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking a part-time/seasonal assistant to the Tennis Coordinator. You will help operate the programmed tennis facilities, register participants, collect court fees, and support daily operations with a focus on safety and customer service.

You will conduct drills, lead participants across ages and skill levels, learn the game rules, and adapt to new technology as needed. The position supports the Recreation staff and reports to the Tennis Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer or systems software used in daily tasks.
• Ability to operate cash registers and handle money accurately.
• Willingness to learn tennis rules and how to instruct participants.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Show commitment to safety policies and maintaining orderly environments.
• Capable of guiding drills for players of all ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct programmed activities and events safely.
• Register participants and take attendance for facility use.
• Check in players, collect court fees, and report no-shows.
• Instruct drills in forehand, backhand, serve, and volley per plans.
• Answer patron questions about programs, times, leagues, and tournaments.
• Supervise participants and maintain order on and off the court.
• Assist in overall facility operations and upkeep of courts.
• Maintain daily records, deposits, and end-of-shift reports.
