Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure is required; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately based on their medical condition.
• Administers medications as prescribed and monitors effects.
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient including basic self-care activities.
• Forms a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates learning with family involvement.
• Demonstrates nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
• Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team in patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families; coordinates with social services for discharge.
• Demonstrates cost-effective practices and efficient use of supplies and equipment.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
• Promotes patient safety by reducing risk of harm in care delivery.
• Learns lifelong and keeps up-to-date with nursing practices.
