Job summary

H&R Block in Alabama is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex returns, interview clients to understand financial situations, and provide clear recommendations. You'll prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses and use our training and technology to deliver trusted advice.

This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office. You will build relationships, identify tax savings opportunities, and support clients through IRS

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment (or equivalent)
• 1+ year of tax preparation or related experience
• Experience in client-facing advisory roles
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must meet IRS/state requirements and continue education
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
