Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses and to interview clients to understand their financial situations. You will provide personalized recommendations, identify tax savings, and promote H&R Block products with support for IRS notices and audits.

This is an in-person role at a local H&R Block office. Ideal candidates have 1+ year of tax-related experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to ongoing

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must meet continuing education requirements and IRS/state requirements

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients, including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
