Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations and prepare accurate returns, both for individuals and businesses.

You’ll build trusted relationships, offer insights on tax savings, and leverage industry-leading training and technology. This seasonal, in‑person role offers a competitive hourly rate and incentive plan as you grow your tax expertise.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including explaining tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
