Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare tax returns, interview clients, and identify savings opportunities. You will work in-person at a local H&R Block tax office in Kansas, delivering empathetic, consultative service and building lasting client relationships.

You will leverage industry-leading training and technology, supporting clients through complex tax situations while following IRS/state requirements and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year experience in tax prep, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication, ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse, complex situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance when needed
