Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation including individual and business returns
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Preferred: 5+ years of tax preparation/ accounting experience
• CPA/EA or IRS Circular 230 credential preferred
• Experience with complex returns, tax planning, or audit support
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (Copilot/ChatGPT)
• Experience in advisory client relationships

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and maintain a positive client-focused office environment
