Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complete and accurate returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.

You will interview clients to understand finances and tax implications, then provide clear, personalized recommendations in a trusted, consultative manner. In this in-person role at a local tax office, you will help clients uncover tax savings, support with IRS notices, and collaborate with teammates to maintain a high-performing,

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of tax preparation experience, including individual and business returns.
• Strong verbal and written communication; explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred.
• Experience with GoSystem or UltraTax is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships with empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities and products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
