H&R Block, Inc. seeks a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to assist clients with complex tax situations in our Portland, ME office. You will prepare returns for individuals and businesses and interview clients to assess their financial picture.

Qualifications

• Must complete H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication, ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax-saving opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive client-focused office
