Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns, advise clients, and leverage training and technology. This in-person role is based in a local H&R Block tax office, offering a competitive hourly rate and an incentive plan to reward impact as you build tax expertise.

You will interview clients, uncover savings opportunities, and provide clear recommendations while delivering empathetic, consultative service and collaborating with your team.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment (1).
• Minimum 1 year of tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications.
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive client-focused office environment.
