Job summary

H&R Block in Wisconsin seeks a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns, interview clients, and identify savings opportunities. You’ll work in-person at a local H&R Block office and benefit from industry-leading training, technology, and an incentive plan.

You will assist with complex individual and business returns, deliver client-focused service, and provide IRS support and audit guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements, with HS diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations (individuals and businesses).
• Conduct client interviews to understand financials and tax implications, providing clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships with empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
