Job summary

Liberty Tax Service is seeking a seasonal Tax Preparer to accurately prepare individual and small business returns and provide exceptional client service. The role requires staying current with tax laws while ensuring compliance and confidence in filing.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Must have PTIN or eligible to receive.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and small business tax returns accurately and efficiently.
• Review financial records to determine required forms for tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing client concerns quickly.
• Conduct client interviews to gather information about tax situations.
• Explain tax return outcomes and provide tax planning advice.
• Stay updated on current tax laws through ongoing education and training.
• Verify the accuracy of data entered into tax software.
• Maintain organized records of client interactions and returns.
• Keep client files up to date and follow up on missing information.
• Participate in training sessions and continue education to maintain credentials.
• Mentor and train junior staff as needed.
