CLA is seeking to hire an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our talented tax team. This role prepares tax returns for clients as individuals or businesses or on behalf of a trust or estate, supporting compliance and optimal tax outcomes.

You will handle 1040s, identify deductions and credits, gather documents, and communicate with clients to answer questions. The position offers flexibility and a collaborative environment, with opportunities for growth within CLA.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant experience in tax return preparation preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare 1040 forms for individual income tax returns and files tax returns electronically or by mail.
• Calculate tax liabilities and refunds based on the information provided; apply deductions, credits, or exemptions.
• Collect and organize tax-related documents and enter data into tax preparation software.
• Communicate with clients to answer questions and provide guidance on tax-related matters; record billable time.
