Job summary

Minnesota Association of Public Accountants seeks a seasonal tax preparer to handle a high volume of individual tax returns from Apple Valley or Lakeville offices, with options for nearby locations. Compensation ranges from $48/hour to $70/hour depending on qualifications, and training on Ultra Tax is available if needed.

Lighthouse equipment, including a laptop, will be provided. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and timely completion, with support from a Remote Team and collaboration

Qualifications

• Significant experience in high-volume personal tax return preparation.
• Proficiency with Ultra Tax, Thomson Product Suite, and MS Office tools.
• Ability to focus, stay organized and finish tax returns.

Responsibilities

• Review and complete a high volume of individual tax returns after our Remote Team has finished data entry and initial review.
• Complete individual returns not sent to Remote Team. Complete them accurately & timely.
• Assist with customer service and team support tasks for our Clients, our Director of Tax and the Tax Team.
• Follow company policy and procedures and maintain strong ethical practices in carrying out responsibilities.

Job description

February 1 st through April 30 th (Flexible on the start/end)

Working from Apple Valley or Lakeville office (Eagan and New Prague offices are an option, depending on proximity)

Rate of pay = $48/hour to $70/hour – Dependent on Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Significant experience in high volume personal tax return preparation.
• Knowledge of Ultra Tax, Thomson Product Suite, MS Tools (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)preferred, for the right candidate we would allow for training on Ultra Tax if never used.
• Ability to focus, stay organized and finish tax returns a must.

Your primary duties in this role will be:

• Review and complete a high volume of individual tax returns after our Remote Team has finished data entry and initial review.
• Complete individual returns not sent to Remote Team. Complete them accurately & timely.
• Assist with customer service and team support tasks for our Clients, our Director of Taxand the Tax Team.
• Other relevant duties as required.

As a seasonal employee, you will be expected to follow company policy and procedures whether written or verbally directed and to maintain strong ethical practices in carrying out your responsibilities.

We will provide you with a laptop and all other necessary tools.
