Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local Kansas office. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while receiving training from day one.

This in-person role emphasizes accurate tax preparation and client service, with opportunities to deepen knowledge during peak season. Successful candidates will build strong relationships with clients, identify potential tax savings, and collaborate with the team to meet office

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
