Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in a local tax office. You’ll gather information from clients, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building client relationships.

No prior tax experience required, with training and support from day one. The role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, offering an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly
• Problem-solving skills including organizing information to identify solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to address questions or unique situations
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
