Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services with no prior tax experience required. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions in an in-person office setting.

With training and support from day one, you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and performance. Availability includes evenings and weekends during peak tax season.

Qualifications

• Completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving abilities and organizing information to identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
