Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns with training, and explain tax information clearly while offering recommendations and opportunities to save on taxes.

No prior tax experience is required; full training and support are provided. The role offers an hourly wage with potential to increase earning as tax knowledge grows and responsibilities expand.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach
