H&R Block, Inc. in California is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns and learn through hands-on training from day one.

No prior tax experience is required, and the role offers an hourly pay with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. You’ll work in a team-focused, client-first environment with weekend availability during peak season.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
Strong communication; explain information clearly.
Problem-solving; organize information and find solutions.
Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools.
Enrollment in or completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.

Responsabilités

Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
Identify tax savings opportunities and propose relevant products and services.
Apply problem-solving to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
