Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local office in North Carolina. You’ll work with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training provided from day one.

The role is in-person and offers an hourly rate with potential earnings growth as tax knowledge increases. Responsibilities include meeting clients, preparing returns, explaining tax information, identifying savings opportunities, and collaborating with teammates to support office

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
