H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in Alabama to begin a career in tax and client services with training and ongoing support from day one.

You’ll work with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building valuable client relationships. This is an in-person role at a local H&R Block tax office with a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Clear communication and the ability to explain information effectively
• Strong problem-solving and information-organizing skills
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based assistants like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in an understandable way
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving to analyze client information and address questions with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach
