Job summary

H&R Block in Missouri is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience required; you’ll earn an hourly rate and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and client relationships, with peak-season hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
