Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a Tax Associate for a seasonal, in-person role at a local tax office in Kansas. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns, answer questions, and help clients understand their tax situation.

No prior tax experience is required; training and support are provided from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows. Ability to work evenings/weekends during tax season is expected.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
