H&R Block is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional for a seasonal, in-person role at a local tax office. You will prepare returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients, and identify tax savings opportunities while delivering consultative service.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance preferred
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) or IRS Circular 230 credential preferred
• Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support or tax notice resolution preferred
• Familiarity with GoSystem or UltraTax software preferred
• Experience in consultative client relationships or financial services preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and tax savings opportunities
• Deliver empathetic, consultative service and build trusted client relationships
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive office environment
