Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Advisor to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. You will prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, conduct in-depth client interviews, and provide personalized recommendations backed by industry-leading training and technology.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by offering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance when needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
