Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Advisor to prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations and to conduct in-depth client interviews for personalized recommendations.

You will build trusted relationships, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide IRS support and audit guidance as needed, within a supportive office environment that rewards performance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tax preparation or related fields, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles and clear communication of tax concepts.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships through empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
