Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation seeks a seasonal Surveying Engineering Intern to assist the Engineering team with fieldwork, mapping, analysis, and design tasks using GPS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS. You will contribute to public infrastructure projects across streets, bikeways, sidewalks, and parks within the public right-of-way.

The role involves fieldwork, data collection, and office tasks, and is a non-benefited seasonal position not exceeding six months.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Must have good organizational and analytical skills.
• Must have good computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and review research materials for accuracy.
• Design, develop, and conduct research projects with appropriate methodologies and tools.
• Perform data manipulation using computer software.
• Write or draft technical reports, articles or related material based on research.
• Other tasks as assigned.
• Comply with city and department policies and procedures.
