Job summary

Required 1-3 years as Surgical Technician/First Assist in acute care, CST/CSFA/CSA certification, and BCLS; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist or CSFA/CSA certification required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub person during procedures, preparing sterile supplies and instruments and supplying the surgical team.
• Perform first assistant duties including exposure, instrument handling, suctioning, and sponging as directed.
• Handle tissues, clamp vessels, control bleeding, place drains, and assist with wound closure per surgeon instructions.
• Maintain sterility and safety standards, conduct counting procedures, and ensure infection control.
• Prep and transport instruments for decontamination and assist in room turnover after procedures.
