Job summary

Provo City Public Works is seeking seasonal summer laborers to provide cleaning and maintenance work for the Storm Water Division. Pay is $18.00 hourly, with seasonal employment running through late fall.

The team will perform tasks including ditch cleaning, pipe laying, flood response, river/channel cleaning, and concrete finishing. Hours are 8–10 per day, Monday through Thursday, with a 25-hour scheduled week and start as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Any training or experience demonstrating an ability to perform the work.
• Physical strength and agility.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner.
• A knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and equipment required by the position.
• Valid, lawful driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Clean ditches and lay pipe.
• Respond to storm flooding and maintain channels.
• Pour and finish concrete.
• Operate and care for pumps and pump stations as needed.
• Clean storm drain boxes and inlets.
• Assist other crew members as directed and perform related tasks.
