Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Seasonal Skate Host for the Ice-Skating Ribbon at Maggie Daley Park in Chicago. This part-time, non-exempt role supports guest experience, safety, and a festive atmosphere across multiple shifts during the winter season.

You will greet guests, assist skaters, enforce safety rules, and help with warming tents and rental areas. The position requires reliability, punctuality, and strong customer service in a busy, public setting.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years skating experience is needed; hockey experience preferred; references will be checked.
• Snow removal experience required.
• Must have own skates.
• Prior customer service or recreation experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in a busy, public-facing environment.
• Team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Committed to guest safety, accessibility and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude.

• Provide information about rink rules, park amenities, and skating guidelines.
• Observe skaters to encourage safe behavior and enforce rink policies.
• Respond to incidents and report injuries or concerns to the Skate Host Leader or Operations Team.
• Support cleanliness and organization in warming tents, rental areas, and guest zones.
• Assist with crowd control and guest flow during peak times on the ice.
• Participate in special events and group programs during the winter season.
• Help create a fun, inclusive, and festive atmosphere during themed or high-traffic sessions.
• Complete other job responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Job Title: Seasonal Skate Host – Part-Time / Non-Exempt

Location: Maggie Daley Park, Chicago, IL

Reports To: Operations Manager

Position Overview

Maggie Daley Park is hiring Seasonal Skate Hosts to support operations at our popular Ice-Skating Ribbon during the winter season. As a Skate Host, you’ll be a key part of the guest experience—providing support on the ice, promoting safety, and helping create a fun and festive environment for all visitors. Maggie Daley Park is open 7 days a week in all types of weather. Rain, Snow and Sunshine. All Applicants need to be extremely reliable, dedicated and punctual. References will be checked.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Requirements

• Starting October 1st through April 1st; this is a seasonal, part-time position
• Maggie Daley Park is open 7 days a week 8am-10pm. ALL Holidays
• Applicants must be available to work early mornings, weekdays, evenings and Weekends
• Ability to work the following Shift(s): 7:00AM-1:30PM, 10:00AM-4:30PM, 4:00PM-10:30PM

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, and skating
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
• May be required to physically assist guests in case of falls or emergencies

Compensation: $20.00/hour
