Duties can include assembling, addressing, stamping, shipping and receiving merchandise, loading, unloading, unpacking, verifying, recording incoming/outgoing merchandise, and arranging for the transportation of merchandise.What You’ll Do | Key AccountabilitiesThe responsibilities of the Seasonal Shipping Staff will consist of but are not limited to the following:Prepares outbound shipments by assembling, protecting, labeling and determining best method of shipmentScan and assemble orders for shipment and complete packing slips, bills of ladings (BOL’s), and shipping/driver logs; unload/load merchandiseEnter data into a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other computer programsSort outbound cartons, maintain shipping lanes and process outbound cartons using small parcel shippingReceive and stage shipments in designated locationsVerify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments against shipping documents for accuracyReview all documentation to ensure accuracy of each shipmentEnsure timely completion and shipment of product from outside vendorsFile and maintain accurate shipping/receiving records, documents, and informationInspect and ensure quality control measures on inbound and outbound goodsEnsure accuracy and count of products selectedReport damages and discrepanciesRecord and report any damaged products/merchandise to the designated supervisorMaintain a safe work environment and report all maintenance or safety issues requiring corrective actionMaintain a clean and safe work environmentSkills & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required, additional education is a plusMinimum of one year experience in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center environment with strong work ethics and a high degree of excellencePrior working experience in a production, distribution, and warehouse environmentBasic knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn proprietary programsWorking knowledge of Oracle reporting softwarePrior experience in the use of warehouse material handling equipment and toolsGood communication and people skills are required with excellent command of the English languageDemonstrated ability to motivate, encourage, and lead team membersMust have strong commitment to quality and ability to provide outstanding customer serviceExcellent attention to detail, ability to follow directions and apply problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepanciesGood mathematical and counting skills requiredHighly motivated and high initiative in providing proactive efforts in seeking solutions to problems and willingness to take on new tasks, challenges, and opportunitiesGood organizational, analytical, multitasking, and follow-up skillsMust always maintain a professional and positive attitude with the highest level of customer serviceMust possess good judgment and fairness when making decisions, and in coordinating and assigning work to team membersMust be goal oriented and task driven to meet deadlinesPossess a sense of urgency to work in a time sensitive, fast-paced team environmentAbility to work in all areas of production in the shipping department and other duties assigned by managementReporting – Working RelationshipsReports directly to the DC Supervisor/Management TeamWork Environment, Physical & Mental DemandsContinuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching and working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawlingFrequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushingFrequent use of ladders and/or lift equipmentFrequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or morePlease note that you do not need to qualify for all requirements to be considered.
