Job description

General Summary

The Seasonal Server is responsible for offering members and guests an enjoyable, expertly served meal reflecting the high service standards of the Club. Must anticipate members’ needs and provide service before being asked and consistently monitor tables/service areas during service periods. A server must always maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly, personalized service to all members and their guests.

Primary Job Functions
  • Responsible for taking food and drink orders in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all menu items, including preparation and presentation
  • Must maintain familiarity with daily specials and actively present them to members
  • Ensure all food and/or drink items are prepared consistent with Club guidelines before being served
  • Follow all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines
  • Present checks to each member and utilize proper billing policies
  • Remain up to date on upcoming Club events
  • Strictly adhere to rules and regulations established in the employee handbook and Club policies
  • Maintain open communication with all team members including Back of House
  • Utilize the 10'-5' rule in all interactions
  • Recognize and address any problems resulting from member or guest complaints
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions, maintenance issues, or damage to equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested by Management
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, and employees.
  • Ability to follow instructions well.
  • Working knowledge of various computer point-of-sale programs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work with management staff and other employees in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the Club.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar Server role in an upscale environment
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is usually indoors, in a controlled environment, and in some cases outdoors and experiences a moderate noise level in the work environment.
