Job summary

Pacific Seafood in Westport is seeking a Seasonal Seafood Processor – Local to join the Westport Crab department. This full-time seasonal position requires maintaining a high production pace while properly processing various species of seafood.

Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Westport, WA. The role includes inspecting and grading product, sanitizing the work area, and adhering to safety and quality policies. Compensation is $17.75 per hour with a total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Experience with food processing equipment is preferred.
• Food safety experience preferred.
• Experience in a processing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be a role model in promoting The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork).
• Inspect and grade product.
• Walk to all picking tables and collect tips.
• Place product in containers or on conveyors.
• Run tips through tip machine and collect the meat.
• Weigh and clean product.
• Sanitize work area and equipment.
• Place product in proper packaging as instructed.
• Assist with workspace, plant clean-up and upkeep.
• Adhere to sanitation and product quality policies.
• Communicate quality issues to supervisors and leads.
• Maintain plant safety at all times.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Summary:

To properly process various species of seafood, ensuring maximum use and yield of product. Consistently maintain a high production pace in all areas of production.

What you bring to Pacific Seafood

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
