Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Seasonal Scribe Tech in Brooklyn, NY to capture detailed visit documentation in the EMR and assist physicians with care. You will help manage patient flow, labs, and ensure DOH compliance, while delivering excellent patient service in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role supports CNA/MA/EMT career paths and offers exposure to a dynamic healthcare environment with flexible hours (8-12 hr shifts) and weekend work. BLS is required at hire.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; higher education a plus.
• Graduate from Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy certs a plus; training provided.
• Excellent bedside manner and professional demeanor.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Capturing accurate and detailed documentation of patient visits in the EMR.
• Assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.
• Directing patient flow, inventory, and following up on labs.
• Ensuring DOH compliance of site lab and exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays or facilities on site.
• Maintain quick pace in fast paced urgent care facility for the duration of shift.
• Facilitating diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
• Assisting the physician with setup of procedures.
• Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone.
• Maintaining a clean, courteous, and professional environment.
• Ensuring the site is fully stocked with supplies.
