Job summary

The Paper Store, Inc. in Branford, CT is seeking Sales Associates to deliver world‑class service in a fast paced retail environment. You will greet customers, understand needs, explain product features, and suggest complementary items using the G.U.E.S.T.

service approach. Responsibilities include ringing up customers at the POS, stocking shelves, maintaining merchandising standards, and participating in training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in specialty retail is preferred.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to multitask while focusing on customers.
• Proficient with POS systems and basic computer skills.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Act as TPS Champion by modeling the G.U.E.S.T. service approach and delivering World Class Service.
• Greet and welcome every customer warmly and with enthusiasm.
• Explain product features and benefits to customers’ needs with in-depth product knowledge.
• Suggest additional items to build onto sales using effective selling techniques.
• Ring up customers at the POS and process transactions accurately.
• Stock shelves and maintain merchandising standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization.
• Attend training and development as required.

Sales Associates are responsible for delivering world class service, achieving sales goals and maintaining merchandising standards in a fun and fast paced retail environment. Sales Associates report directly to the Store Team Leader and other members of management.Sales associates are responsible for providing customers with a unique shopping experience by utilizing the G.U.E.S.T. service approach. Sales Associates responsibilities also include following company guidelines when ringing up customers at the POS, processing new product, stocking shelves, recovery of the sales floor, and cleaning throughout the store.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Act as a TPS Champion by modeling the G.U.E.S.T. service approach, and consistently delivering World Class ServiceGreet and welcome every customer warmly and with enthusiasmUnderstand customer needs by asking open-ended questionsExplain product features and benefits in relation to the customers’ needs by providing in-depth product knowledgeSuggest additional items to build onto sales by utilizing effective selling techniquesThank the customer sincerely and invite them to return and shop with us againBe a TPS brand ambassadorBuild customer loyalty by being friendly, attentive and respectful of customersContribute to a positive work environment with respectful, ethical behavior and honest communication, demonstrating professionalism at all times.Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, appearance and compliance to company dress codeSupport all sales efforts and initiatives across all business channels in an effort to maximize company salesConsistently capture accurate and valid customer information at the POSMaintain awareness of all current promotions and process them correctly at the Point of SaleEnthusiastically participate in training and development as required utilizing all training resourcesPrepare incoming product for the sales floor by following instruction and guidance from supervisorsMerchandise product following company visual guidelines and visual standardsAfter comprehensive training, performing ear piercings and providing a safe, sanitary experience in accordance with state, federal and CDC guidelines.
