Job summary

Blue Ridge Services in Augusta, KS seeks a seasonal Light Equipment Operator I for April through October. You will operate light equipment (tractor, mower, weed eater), perform routine maintenance, and assist with road/bridge tasks while following safety protocols.

This is a five-day work week with variable hours based on assignment needs. The role requires 6–12 months related experience and a high school diploma or GED; random drug testing and safety training may be required, with on-site

Qualifications

Six months to twelve months related experience, High School Diploma or G.E.D. and/or training.
Knowledge of road and bridge maintenance, tractor operation experience, familiarity with rotary decks, ditch mowing, weed eating.
Knowledge of safe chainsaw handling and cutting techniques, and small equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates light equipment such as a tractor, rotary mower, weed eater, chain saw and other light equipment.
Performs all maintenance on tractor and rotary mower.
Patches road and bridge surfaces using cold or hot mix.
Performs road and bridge maintenance work such as mowing road ditches, installing and maintaining culverts and filling washouts and installing guardrail.
