Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in New Albany, MS is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care across the care setting. You will collaborate with physicians, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

You will assess patients, administer medications, educate families, and participate in care planning. Must have RN license and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with active license.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Administers ordered medications as prescribed.
• Provides care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates and evaluates a teaching plan, involving family as appropriate.
• Demonstrates nursing knowledge to perform treatments and services.
• Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family; coordinates with social services for hospital and post-discharge needs.
• Demonstrates cost-effective practices and non-wasteful use of supplies, linen, and charge items.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and safely.
• Promotes patient safety and lifelong learning in nursing.
